Summary
This project was a culmination of a lot of different display frameworks my team has developed over the years at Newsday. Building everything mobile first and focusing on functionality over the widest range of browsers and devices we came up with something that I feel really helps tell stories in a unique and beautiful way. Our mobile storytelling initiative stemmed up some interesting ideas on how to engage and excite our customers from that came a series of Long Island ghost stories. Utilizing everything we’ve learned about making full width, edge to edge images and video we created an adaptive template that allows for the editorial staff to place text and headlines over an interesting piece of media.
