Process

I’m a passionate user advocate with a natural knack for UX strategy, UI design and creating intuitive interactive tools for humans. I sincerely love what I do.

Staying current is tough but I accept the challenge and keep up with design trends with online media, books and day to day creative brainstorming with my teams. Being super collaborative with other designers keeps the product development process interesting and filled with creative ideas. In the product world if you’re doing something the way you did it 6 months ago, you’re doing it wrong. Stay agile in methodologies is key.

Life is too short to create something no one wants.

I come from a engineering background. I’ve been writing HTML, CSS and JS for over 16 years. It gives me a unique perspective on engineering challenges and the best strategies to get products designed, tested, developed and done.

I’m always happy to jump out of management and get my hands dirty if a designer is in need of assistance or has a creative block. I love working with my teams rather than telling them what to do. With the knowledge I bring from coding, I’m able to coach stakeholders in each project to execute a simple, usable product that users enjoy.

I’m a big fan of proof of concept.

Creative Collaboration

Agile development and Design Thinking is a huge part of my process. Keeping everyone involved in the project from the kickoff enables a streamlined review and approval system. I’m a big fan of proof of concept. Since most people can’t visualize what they are thinking, I collaborate deeply utilizing sketches, brainstorming and the Figma to mock up my teams ideas. It’s been super successful allowing for quick turnaround on tight deadlines. I always meet deadlines.

I love working with Matt. You have an idea and you don’t have to wait 10, no 5, no 1 minute till he’s got a visual.

Quick Concepting

I work kinda fast… it’s probably one of my greatest traits as a designer. As an expert in Figma and using design systems, I can whip up an idea very quickly. In meetings I’m known to design on the fly, share my screen and put together exactly what the stakeholders are talking through to assist in the conversation. It’s best to get the base idea flushed out visual, or how I like to call it the “pretty pictures” so people can see it. Product ideas come to life in real time and people feel very close to the process.
