About

I’m Matthew Cassella, and I’ve been immersed in the world of UX and product design since 2004. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with companies like Microsoft, DirecTV, and Newsday, where I honed my skills in everything from print and web design to front-end engineering and team management. Currently, I’m the Head of Product Design at MNTN, leading multiple design teams and driving UX innovation.

My journey has been fueled by a deep passion for building intuitive, user-centered products. I love getting my hands dirty, whether it’s coding, designing, or collaborating with my teams to solve complex challenges. I thrive on creating experiences that not only look great but are also rooted in data-driven insights and user feedback.

One of my proudest accomplishments was earning four Emmys during my time at Newsday for my work in digital storytelling. Today, I apply that same passion to my work at MNTN, where I’ve built a design system from the ground up and helped boost engagement through better UX strategies. My approach is all about collaboration—whether it’s sketching ideas in real time or using Figma to bring concepts to life during meetings. For me, staying agile and constantly evolving is key.

At the end of the day, I just love what I do: building stuff, leading teams, and finding creative ways to make products more engaging and enjoyable for users
